Our Mission is to improve and protect the health of North Dakotans by reducing the negative health and economic consequences of the state's number-one cause of preventable disease and death --- tobacco use.

Our Goal is to reduce disease, disability and death related to tobacco use by:
- Preventing initiation among youth and young adults
- Promoting quitting among adults and youth
- Eliminating exposure to secondhand smoke
- Identifying and eliminating tobacco-related disparities among specific population groups

The North Dakota Tobacco Prevention and Control Program has become a member of the National Alliance for Tobacco Cessation, along with several other states, public health organizations, nonprofit groups, foundations and companies. The goal of the Alliance is to promote Become An EX, a free service for anyone wanting to quit smoking. Become An EX uses proven methods to help smokers relearn their life without cigarettes.

Check out becomeanex.org. Everyone can become an EX!
